Description
The Nike Air Force 1 Low Pojangmacha is a special release that celebrates SNKRS Korea’s 5th Anniversary.
The sneaker uses a white leather base with a peppery red which looks to be inspired by tteokbokki or spicy rice cakes with the lace dubraes and Nike branding on the tongue tag seen in green, inspired by scallion which is typically used as a garnish on the popular dish. The heeltab is seen in white with the rear heeltab seen in the same peppery red made from canvas, which is typically used on the tents and stalls of pojangmachas. The insoles also house street food graphics, while drink bottle-inspired enameled leather Swoosh and clear plastic tongue label details illuminate the streets.
About Pojangmacha
The decades-old pojangmacha is known to serve quick and cheap food such as rice cakes, skewered fish cakes in broth, and Korean blood sausage, but many serve all types of fried foods, rice rolls, and even beer and alcohol. These roadside restaurants can vary in size, but they’re primarily known for inexpensive meals and are cherished by workers after a long day of work.
