The Air Jordan 5 Retro ‘Alternate Grape’ delivers a variation on the silhouette’ s classic OG colorway from 1990.
Uppers are made entirely of rich purple suede, using the “Grape” accent color as a primary tone. Matte black is present under the signature midfoot netting, and more black details grace the eyestays, laces and collar trim.
The same hue appears on the lace locks and Jumpman branding atop the tongue, which is finished in a light-grabbing reflective finish. Additional Jumpman logo hits adorn the heel and translucent rubber outsole.
Midsoles are done up in black as well, with toothed, speckled teal detailing towards the forefoot and a clear Air Max cushioning unit in the heel. Icy blue outsoles round off the look in signature style.
When did Jordan 5 come out?
In 1990 the Air Jordan 5 made its debut. The third consecutive MJ sneaker designed by Tinker Hatfield, WWII fighter planes came to life on this silhouette, taking flight on the hardwood.
